Jerome Grey


Jerome Grey is an American singer, musician, and composer born on March 23,1947, in Apia, Western Samoa. His father Henry Faanana Grey was adopted by Charlie Grey of Fiji who owned a building business, where he trained as a carpenter and later became supervisor for the government until his death. Christina Toeaso, Jeromes mother, was the granddaughter of the late Thomas Trood, the British vice consul of Western Samoa in the early 1900s. He wrote tunes like Eleni, Naunau I Le Ufi, Siamani, Olaga O Samoa, Lou Sei Oriana, and We Are Samoa the unofficial Samoan national anthem and Greys most famous composition.
